Perl Dev Container

For more detailed instructions on how to setup your worstation to run devcontainers see: https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/devcontainers/containers

Open this repository in VS Code and choose Reopen in Container. The container installs the Perl and Apache dependencies, starts MariaDB, and then runs the OpenAdmin isntall script. It's up to the individual developer if they would like to use utility/populatedemo scripts to add demo data.

The OpenAdmin admin site is forwarded at http://localhost:8086. Use the development-only HTTP Basic Auth credentials admin / admin. The demo database credentials are demo / openadmin_dev; MariaDB root uses openadmin_dev. These credentials are only for the local development container. The other sites:

teacher: http://localhost:8087 parents/students: http://localhost:8088 EA/TA's: http://localhost:8089

The MariaDB data is stored in a Compose volume and is retained when the container is rebuilt. The setup tracks demo-data initialization in the database so reopening or rebuilding the app container does not insert the demo records again.

Once The dev container is running use the command task watch-school to automatically sync your file changes tp the running app. Changes to html/css are only visible after refreshing the browser page.
